Jaden & Lou's Intimate Airbnb Wedding Weekend

Some weddings are about the party. Others are about the people.

Jaden and Lou's intimate wedding weekend was entirely about family, togetherness, and creating an experience that felt like them. With just 20 guests—all family—they skipped the traditional wedding venue and rented an Airbnb for an extended weekend, giving everyone time to actually slow down and be together.

And honestly? It was perfect.

The Setting

The Airbnb became their own private wedding venue, with the ceremony taking place on the front lawn overlooking the pond and an intimate dinner tucked behind the house near the barn, illuminated by warm Edison lights.

Having the property for the entire weekend meant there was no rush. The space became the backdrop for everything—from morning basketball games to late-night conversations and the wedding itself.

The Day

The morning of the wedding, Jaden and Lou played basketball with their family. It's such a small detail, but it perfectly captured the spirit of the weekend: no performance, no pressure—just spending time with the people they love.

Lou's Italian heritage was also woven into the weekend in the sweetest way. For their welcome dinner, his dad made homemade chicken Parmesan for the entire family. It wasn't just a beautiful meal; it was a piece of family history shared around the table.

The Vibe

Jaden and Lou made incredibly intentional design choices, and I was obsessed with their color palette—especially Jaden's chartreuse ballet flats.

Everything felt playful, stylish, and personal without ever feeling overly "wedding." The design complemented the setting rather than competing with it, proving that an intimate wedding can still have a strong visual point of view.

The Photography

The best part of this wedding for me? There was no strict timeline.

There was so much buffer built into the weekend that I actually had time to think, experiment, and get creative. Instead of rushing from one scheduled moment to the next, I could watch the light, explore the property, photograph family interactions, and make portraits when inspiration struck.

My approach was a mix of documentary wedding photography, editorial portraits, digital, and film. The goal was to capture the day honestly while still making room for photographs that felt artistic and unexpected.

And then we got the most beautiful sunset for portraits.

Having the time to wait for that light—and actually enjoy it—was everything.
